When I was a kid my parents considered salt and pepper a well developed spice rack
Everything was boiled --- just wait until you have a nice bit of boiled and then fried beef liver with boiled potato's topped with boiled and then fried onions --feel free to use the pepper if you want
--------------
Edit
Mine were born in the 30's and my grandparents lived with us until they died -- G-father 1885 - 1986 G-Mother 1901 -1997
And oh what fun they could be -- Did you know that angels cried at the sight of naughty children and carrots on the floor and they regularly checked behind your ears to make sure they were clean .?Health Question & Answer

You Betcha'! Wink-wink! (Sorry, just had to do it!)
Yes! I was born with Garlic in my blood. My Spanish Grandmother converted my bland eating Irish/Scottish Grandfather over to garlic. My husband is of French ancestry. LOTS of garlic in the house. We roast garlic with lots of our meat. Or grill it. Then eat it whole. Or chopped, or sliced.
When our youngest was a baby (6-8 months) he would sit in his highchair while I was cooking and demand to 'taste' it. And would proceed to eat a tablespoon of freshly chopped garlic. And LOVE it. That is unheard of. Yep. We like Garlic and we're tough enough!Health Question & Answer

I'm a wimp at eating it raw by itself, but I love to slice a clove thin and put it all on a few soft tacos, along with white cheddar, chicken breast, avocado, salsa, fast fried yellow corn tortillas, black beans & spinach leaves.Health Question & Answer

I sometimes just swallow a whole garlic clove, without chewing it. I don't think that you really need to be very tough to do that.Health Question & Answer
Umm... probably not, not anymore. I got sick once from a soup that was very garlic-y, so I doubt I could handle it 'straight' now. I guess you never know until you try though, huh.?Health Question & Answer
