Why are people obese? is it an malnutrition or something?!

Question: Why are people obese.? is it an malnutrition or something.?
I know that there is compulsive overeating disorder which accounts for some of the obese, but just wondering, what are the other causes. If obese people don't have this disorder (thus don't have an addiction to food) why can't they control what they eat.?

is it just lack of nutritional insight, unhealthy eating or what.?

just curious really. :)Health Question & Answer

I'm morbidly obese and this is mine - Unhealthy eating, unhealthy portion sizes and not enough excercise but in saying that I've had health problems - not to do with my weight since 10 years old - I've been on medication since 10 that has gradually made my weight go up and I also have a lung condition - I want to loose weight but it's kind of hard when you have a lung condition and after 10 minutes of excercise I almost pass out from lack of oxygen - I'll be having surgery this month to help me loose weight so it won't be a problem after that. also just to add something else - I eat probably more healthy than most now - Salads or vegetables with dinner every night - thankfully I grew up liking vegetables and alot of stirfries. It just depends on the individual really.Health Question & Answer
