In weight training/bodybuilding, what are drop sets and supersets?!
Question: In weight training/bodybuilding, what are drop sets and supersets.?
Answers:
A super set is where you combine two similar exercises, such as chest press and pressups without a break. You move from one directly into the other. Or you can do tri-sets where you do three exercises without a break. Some people combine alternate bodyparts (i.e. bicep curl and tricep kick backs) but this doesn't carry the same benefits
A drop set is where you begin on the highest weight you can manage a set number of reps (say 12), then when you reach failure you drop the weight a plate and go again. This time you'll probably get 8-10 out before failure. Then you drop it again. You do this 3-5 time until you are screaming out on a 'baby' weight and only managing one or two reps much to the amusement of everyone else in the gym.Health Question & Answer
