First of all please note: I do not do drugs the most i have done was pot a few times at a few parties about 4 years ago noting since than.
My question is : My mom and I were talking and she said back in the 50's if you wanted to lose weight the dr would give you speed. It would give you alot of energy and you lost weight fast. She is not the only person i heard this from. I have heard of people on other hard drugs losing weight. I would like to know why they stopped this if it is true. Is it just because it is addictive.? And could cause problems with your heart. If so do you think they should try that again seeing as the US is so over weight. but do it medically as in you would go in for regular testing.Health Question & Answer

Ephedra is a Chinese herb and used to be legal and available in some diet pills. They worked amazingly well. But they did make your heart race and some people did abuse them. I think even a couple of baseball players were using them as enhancment drugs and as a result of all that physical activity combined with the natural effects of the herb did have to go to the hospital for heart problems. I was using it myself only because I had a 3rd shift job and they helped me stay awake for it. The rapid weight loss was a plesant side effect. Well, I think speed is too dangerous, especially considering most people who are extremely overweight have heart problems to begin with. Narcotics can help you lose weight too but there's just so many reasons not to do those unless you absolutely have to.

here in australia if ur overweight u can go 2 the doc and get whats called duromine it does contain speed and costs about aus $140 it can become addictive and the side effects are sleeplesness,mood swings,of course there is loss of appetite the docs here recommend if u do get it u only take 1 tablet every 2nd day it is only available with a prescription hope this helpsHealth Question & Answer
Speed is also called amphetamine. It is in different things such as medications to treat ADHD. Amphetamine gives you a lot of energy and a loss of appetite. You are always moving and doing things. And being active and not eating much, you do tend to lose a lot of weight.Health Question & Answer
