I fractured my wrist 2 months ago, just got my cast off a week ago, and its stiff and hurts to bend?!

Question: I fractured my wrist 2 months ago, just got my cast off a week ago, and its stiff and hurts to bend.?
I want to play basketball soon for my college intramural team and it starts in about 10 days, which would be about 17 days after the cast came off! How much longer do you think my hand will be back to normal and what can I do to help it get better faster.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
When your doctor decides you are ready, start range-of-motion and strengthening exercises. A physical therapist may help you with these exercises. Do not return to sports until your wrist is fully healed.

It takes 6-10 weeks for a fracture of the radius at the wrist to heal. A fracture of the scaphoid bone may take 10-16 weeks to heal.

also, paraffin bath therapy is one of the most effective methods of applying heat to relieve pain and stiffness. A warm paraffin bath relaxes muscles, relieves stiffness and muscle spasms, and stimulates circulation. The warm paraffin also moisturizes for healthier looking, softer skin.Health Question & Answer

Physio therapy they just help you get your range in motion back :) You usually go once a week. But if you play alot of basketball and your arms are strong then you should be back to normal.. unless its still hurt. I had my WHOLE arm in a cast for 2 months. i took me only 14 days to get back in motion, yeah it still hurts a little but i am back to playing Basketball and that is all that matter to me :)Health Question & Answer
