Question: I just got my tongue pierced, does benadryl reduce the swelling.?
does anything reduce the swelling besides ice.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
No, Benadryl is an antihistamine, which only treats sneezing, runny nose, and itching. It does absolutely nothing for pain, other than possibly make you drowsy enough to sleep through an hour or two of pain.
Take some Advil (ibuprofen). It is for pain and inflammation (redness, swelling) so it should do nicely for your problem. And keep using the ice.Health Question & Answer

I just did the ice thing. Every morning when I woke up I had to pop the ball back through my tounge swelled around the ball. I got a longer barbell. I pretty muched stayed away from anything that was not a cold liquid, and no smoking or drinking.Health Question & Answer

Only ice should work.
Listerine is to keep it from infecting. They should have told you that at the body shop. Benadryl will only help if you are in pain, which you shouldn't cuz if you are you should probably take it off.Health Question & Answer
