PLEASE HELP!! HORRIBLE BACK PAIN!! PLEASE!!?!

Question: PLEASE HELP!! HORRIBLE BACK PAIN!! PLEASE!!.?
Ok. This has been going on for quite a while now. Since October/November of 07 actually, when I got my first job. They said all the standing might have done it. But it's really never stopped, and I've been off the job thing since April 08. The pain is in my left shoulder blade and is kind of like a really bad burning, pounding, stinging kind of thing. And I've been to the doctor and she did NOTHING. All she did was put me on pain meds that didn't work at all. It usually happens if I'm sitting or standing for a long time. I really don't know what to do. It's really bad! I'm 17 btw. Thanks so much for anything that might help.Health Question & Answer

What you need to do first is find out the reason for the pain. Yes, all the standing may have actually caused it.

You need to go back to your doctor and specifically request an MRI so that he/she can get an actual image of your spine. The MRI will be able to reveal what exactly is causing your back pain.

Once that has been revealed, ask about Physical Therapy as a more conservative method to get rid of your pain instead of masking it with drugs. Physical therapy WORKS, and approximately 50% of all orthopedic physical therapy patients are there for back pain.Health Question & Answer

Oh dear sounds so painful and I can sympathise as I was recently in a car accident and have the same kind of pain in my neck and lower back. Perhaps for long term help you need some kind of physio.
