How can you raise your blood pressure?!

Question: How can you raise your blood pressure.?
I recently fainted in the grocery store but the doctors did a bunch of tests and couldn't find anything wrong with me. My best guess is it's that my blood pressure is somewhat low (90s/60s) and I get dehydrated really easily. I've been drinking lots of water to keep hydrated but I don't know what to do about my blood pressure, what can I do to get it up.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Drink tons of water and SALT! You need the salt with the water to retain the water. You can also try different sport drinks with electrolytes, like Gatorade, G2 (if you don't want tons of calories), Propel, Crystal Lite, and bunches of others I can't think of right now. Stand up and sit up slowly so you don't faint, and make sure to do good large muscle exercises so the blood doesn't pool. Check with your doctor again to double check there's nothing wrong with you, especially if anything worsens or changes. Try to take your BP lying, then sitting, then standing, and see if there's a difference as well. If all else fails go see another doctor, and if need be they can try different meds to raise your BP. Good luck, and feel good!Health Question & Answer

Everyone has a level of blood pressure that is normal for their body. Most people run at about 125/75 some higher some lower. You should absolutely not try to raise your blood pressure by increasing your salt intake. You need to be properly checked out by a Doctor to see what your normal blood pressure is. It may be that your body has always run at a fairly low BP and that's not unhealthy.
Why are you easily dehydrated.? Is it possible that you might have diabetes insipidus which makes you pass a lot of urine which is very pale.? Again, you really need to discuss this with your doctor and get some advice based on all the information only he/she can gather.Health Question & Answer
