Question: What is a safe and effective way to increase my body's natural threshold for physical pain.?
There's probably some sort of method for such a thing, because I feel that I can't take much pain at all, unless my sub-conscious mind takes over. I don't want hypnosis or meditation or anything like that, just recommend something that I can practice which will help me to tolerate pain much more effectively, but not to a dangerous level. Well, one approach is just to "practice". Try to inflict small amounts of non-damaging pain on yourself (pinching yourself or "snapping" a rubber band on your wrist are good places to start) and gradually increase it to the point that you can't take it. The next time, push it a little further. Having another person help you can be effective for greater levels of pain, but you need really good communication for that to be safe.Health Question & Answer
