You might possibly have to go to the emergency room or to your doctor and let them use the ring cutter to remove your ring. If the finger is that swollen, fooling with it might make it even worse.
If the swelling has gone down a little by now, thy these tricks:

Take soap in your hands and wet it with water. Form lather and cover the swollen finger with it. Now, put your finger under warm water. Keep pulling on the ring, till the time it comes off.
Using a clingy plastic food wrap, envelope your finger from the ring up.

Make the wrap as tight as possible. Now, grease the ring as well as swollen finger, below the clingy wrap, with moisturizing cream. Leave for a few minutes. Gently, pull the ring, along with the clingy wrap.

Take a window cleaner and spray it on the ring as well as the finger. Now, try to rotate the ring around the finger 1-2 times. Spray the cleaner on your finger again. Using gentle pressure, try to pull the ring off your finger.

Take cello tape and wrap some of it around your finger, just above the ring. Leave your finger like this for around half an hour. Hold your hand above your heart and ice it for a few minutes. Take off the tape and spray some window cleaner on your finger. Twist and pull the ring off the finger.

Wrap a piece of thick string down to the ring, starting from the top of your finger. The end of the string should be placed under the ring. Now, start pulling up the ring, while working up over the top of the string.

Take dental floss and wrap it around your finger, while making sure to slip one of its ends under the band of the ring. Starting from the bottom of the finger, loosen the floss. As you start unwinding it, you will notice the ring moving up your finger.

Cover the swollen finger with butter or cooking oil. Start twisting the ring around the finger. Apply some more butter or oil and gently pull it off your finger.Health Question & Answer

Dental Floss. Get a long piece of dental floss, 3-4 feet. Pull 3-4 inches through the ring toward your knuckle. Wrap the rest tightly around your finger to compress the skin and knuckle. Try to slide your ring off now. If that doesn't work, unwrap the floss from the side closest to your knuckle so it forces the ring foward. If your finger starts turning blue or goes numb, you need to get it (the ring) cut off. No ring is worth your finger.Health Question & Answer

This is a little pain full... but wash you hand with a soap that removes oils from you hands, (dish soap or something) soak you hand in ice water (don't freeze it though).. it shrinks the swelling and constricts blood vessles that maybe enlarged... I assume it may be cold outside for you... got outside to dry your hand... have you ever noticed your rings are looser in the winter than it the summer... this is concept.

Try the classic-- put your finger in you mouth and try to pull if off with saliva.

if you have tried every thing you need to go to your local emergency room, they have cutters made especially for this and can get it off.. then you can take it back to your jeweler and have it fixed and--- get it resized while you are at it.Health Question & Answer

I agree with Dasboos1; you need to go get it cut off. If it is that tight, it could potentially interfere with the blood supply to your finger, resulting in lasting damage.

You need to get in touch with your local hospital or head along to their ER and have it removed before you get serious problems with it.Health Question & Answer

~~You have to soak your hand in ice water for at least 15 minutes. Then apply baby oil, or olive oil, etc to get you finger slippery. Gently start working it off. You have probable made it swell trying to get it off. So keep your hand in ice water as long as you can.~~Health Question & Answer

if your finger is cold it should shrink. however... being cold will also shrink the ring. some how you need to heat the ring and keep your finger from swelling at the same time.Health Question & Answer
