I have a form of tendonitis in my hand and its very painful, i feel like i'm bouncing from doctor to doctor?!

Question: I have a form of tendonitis in my hand and its very painful, i feel like i'm bouncing from doctor to doctor.?
I started having tendonitis after an injury a year and a half ago. I saw an orthopedic specialist and he finally said he can't do anything for me. Then I went to a pain specialist and it got way to costly ( I am a student and finishing my degree...its $270 a visit). I'm trying to re-establish with a doctor and I usually take tramadol for pain. I am hurting soo much so I am trying to get my med refilled with a doctor I saw for this injury (it was before the pain specialist)

Why do I feel like I'm getting bounced around...or when i go into an office they treat me bad. I have depression from this injury and now its getting really bad. I feel like screaming at the doctors to just help me and stop giving me the run around.

I'm a good citizen. I pay for each visit cash. Why am I finding myself in ERs to get the help i need when I should be getting it from a doctor if I cannot afford a pain specialist.

Can someone point me in the right direction because I'm about to go crazy.

Thank you.

I had a plate and screws placed in 2001 after I fractured my right wrist by the on call orthopedist when I was seen in the ER. This past March my arm began to have pain. I looked up the Dr. that did my surgery and went for an appointment. He determined I had to have a dequervein debridement and removal of my hardware because he believed that I possibly had a tendon wrapped around the plate and screws.During surgery 2 of my screws stripped and per his operative documentation he said he "did not have the proper equipment" to remove the screws. So he did the debridement and left the plate in. I had excessive bleeding during my surgery and he kept having to put the tourniquet back on , open my incisions back up and drain the blood.(3 times). I thought I was just having post-op pain but it never went away. He said he would order the equipment and re-operate to remove the plate if I still had pain (it is in his report). I went to him 3 months later and asked him was he going to remove the hardware as promised, he looked at my wrist and abruptly said no. The side of my wrist is caving in, the pain is unbareable, i am dropping things, and my PCP said she would take care of me until I got with someone who would diagnose me and fix the problem. I have been diagnosed with 2 things no Dr. will agree. One diagnosis is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome-by an orthopedist that did an exam and x-rays. However the pain mgmt spec. that did not touch me or take x-rays disagrees and said he doesn't know what it is. Now my PCP is frustrated and she is starting to treat me like a drug seeker simply because the less potent meds like tyl#3 or vicodin work better than percocet or fentynal patches and she won't lower my meds. She is making me wait to see another pain spec. Meanwhile I guess she wants me to just "deal with it". I called her Monday about the pain and requested a lower med(I know my body), my husband called 3 times during the week and then my PCP called me at 4:45 on Friday and said it's 5pm on Friday there is nothing I can do.I too am going nuts while taking everything out on my husband and trying to act like nothing is wrong in front of my 4yo. Seems we both kinda need the same advice. Is your area that is sinking in discolored and your tendons or veins are sticking out. It's gross looking. Mine is my right arm, the arm I use of course. Seems like the only hope we have for the weekend is the ER.Health Question & Answer

DeQuervains can be very painful so I am sorry you have this condition. But $270 per visit is ridiculous! You need a good chiropractor, I see this condition in my office and have had good success in treating it with ultrasound and various exercises. I wish you success in getting the proper treatment.Health Question & Answer

Doctors tend to pass you around. Tendons take a long time & lots of rest to heal.Health Question & Answer
