Does anyone know of any successful CPR stories?!

Question: Does anyone know of any successful CPR stories.?
I recently had to give CPR to someone who obviously stopped breathing and had no pulse. Sadly, they never had another breath. Does anyone know of any one or any story (link on the internet.?) of where CPR did literally save a life.?Health Question & Answer

I've done cpr probably a thousand times. I've been a paramedic for 20 years. I have seen it work although rare, if they have not been down long and paramedics are there fast and start advanced life support, it can work. CPR is to help the blood circulate around the body and we continue to do it while we are working on them to get the medications around the body. CPR alone will not get the heart started again. They may also need defibrillation(shocked with the paddle). You should be proud regardless of the outcome and if you are ever in that situation again, do it. It can work, I've seen it.Health Question & Answer

Out of all my time in EMS, I've only seen it once personally. I won't get into details, but it was a witnessed arrest (someone saw this person fall and called 911 right away, so I arrived just as he stopped breathing).
also, my friend's father went into cardiac arrest and was actually saved with CPR. That was several years ago. Miracles do happen.
I've performed CPR so many times I can't even count them. There's always a chance, so you work as hard and as long as you can. Unfortunately, most of the time, the patient does die. You should be proud that you were able to do everything in your power to help that person. Don't be afraid or ashamed to admit if it's bothering you, and talk to someone if necessary. It's never easy to work so hard and not get that miracle you hope for.Health Question & Answer

My husband & I were at a gallery opening, drinking & eating & mingling, when we heard "is there a doctor in the house"...(trite but true); well, we did CPR on a little old lady and several weeks later we received a thankyou card from her...so sometimes you just never know. It really depends on how significant is their underlying pathology causing the arrest, and that you can not know at the time you are doing CPR.Health Question & Answer
