Continuous heavy nose bleeds (for the first time ever)?!
Question: Continuous heavy nose bleeds (for the first time ever).?
Please any advice or help would be great.
During tonight i have had 3 heavy nose bleeds which last up to 15 mins and are very heavy flow, also i have never had a nose bleed before in my life and i am 19 next month.
If this helps today at mid day i picked a scab from the left side of my nose where the blood is coming from but at the time it didnt bleed, then went to the cinema 8 hours later and as a sucked on a straw of my milk shake it started to bleed really heavy (within 10 seconds of the film starting!) haha... it lasted for 15 mins and i didnt think it would stop. then it happened at the end of the film on the way out and again tonight when i lead down in bed. I really dont know what to do apart from the basic pinch your nose and keep you head down, as i have never had a nose bleed before..

I went through the same kind of thing a year ago. I got really heave nose bleeds for no reason at all and some of them lasted 20-25 minutes. Did you recently move to college cause a change in atmosphere like being in a dorm would prevent getting good moisture to your nose. When i had my nosebleeds i would go to the shower to allow it to run down. also make sure you're pinching at the bridge of the nose where the soft part meets the bone. Try leaving windows open as well and if the problem persists i would say get a humidifier.Health Question & Answer
Nose bleeds aren't really serious, and I myself get them quite often, it seems to be genetics for me. There is a nasal spray that can reduce the chance of getting them, I've used that for a while and it seems to work.

put a cold wet towel on your forehead when you get them. and just put tissues up your nose.

you may have high blood pressure. or that the air is very dry where you live.
