I think I pulled my groin?!

Question: I think I pulled my groin.?
My groin has been hurting for about two months now and I'm not sure its actually a "pulled groin" because I can't recall a certain moment where it just started to hurt. I just remember waking up some day and there was a sharp pain on my upper right thigh (groin area) and it only gets worse when I try to run.
I have tried stretching the area but it only makes it worse.
My questions are..
Is this a symptom of a pulled groin.?
How long should this type of pain last.?
What is the best way to "relieve" the pain so I can still play sports.?
When is a good time I should see a doctor.?

Answers:
It sounds like a pulled groin to me. Those suck!
I would recommend taking ibuprophen (advil, which is an anti-inflammatory and will help with any swelling inside of the muscle as well as the pain). This pain will last more than likely until it heals. Another thing that might help is icy hot. Icy hot patches work very well, so I would recommend those while you sleep to help alleviate any discomfort. Or even during the day if it comes down to it. also, continue stretching even though it hurts. Nothing too strenuous, just to help keep the muscle from getting stiff and limiting your mobility. I would go see a doctor soon, especially if it's been lasting this long.
