i have a horrible toothache lately and cant get into a dentist.. ive been poppin Ibuprofen like its candy.. it takes at least 6-8 to make me feel any relief and that takes like 2-3 hrs.. so my question is how bad it is for you.? can you die from taking too much.? or cause any damage to your body.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Overdoing it on the ibuprofen can cause ulceration in your stomach, acid reflux, and liver problems.. The max you should take is 800 mg every 4-6 hours..
My suggestion for you is to take 800 mg ibuprofen and 1000mg tylenol.. You can take those at the same time without a drug interaction..Health Question & Answer

Kmax27 is on target.. Too much at one time.. Max safe dose of ibuprofen is 600-800 mg (3-4 standard 200 mg pills) on a full stomach.. More won't kill you, but can cause gastric bleeding and blood thinning.. You can take tylenol along with it and that should hlep some, and apply ice to the site as well..

Get to a dentist.. Either they address the underlying cause or prescribe codeine until they can, which is much more effective than ibuprofen..Health Question & Answer

Yes, it can certainly hurt you.. I don't know the specific effects, but too much of anything can be harmful..

If you're in that much pain, get medical attention.. Why can you not get into a dentist.? If it's just because there's no appointment available, maybe it's time to explain that this is an emergency..Health Question & Answer

It can cause damage, but you're probably safe if you're doing it VERY short term.. If it's that bad, though, you must must must go to the dentist.. Trust me, if you think it's bad now, putting it off will make it much worse.. And you CANNOT continue taking ibuprofen like that forever..Health Question & Answer

Yes; you can OD and you are definitely causing MAJOR damage to your liver and kidneys.. If you're in that much pain; you need to go to the doctors and get a stronger (rx) medication..Health Question & Answer
