I have had bursitis several times in both knees, and the continued pain and swelling is not normal.. The is a type of bursitis called Septic Bursitis, which means that you have a bacterial infection inside your knee bursa.. also, my doctor always gently inserted a syringe into the bursa (you barely feel it).. He or she then draws out all the fluid causing the pressure, and injects the bursa with a steroid (Genealogy) to reduce swelling and an anesthetic (Lidocaine) to numb the knee.. Your best bet is to go to an orthopedic specialist for this treatment.. Feel better..Health Question & Answer
