Is it normal to feel dizzy when you stand up?!

Question: Is it normal to feel dizzy when you stand up.?
it happens about 2-4 times a day.. I always find myself clinching onto something or having to sit back down when i get up and i don't get up very fast.. i could just be sitting in a chair at the table and get up and i have to stretch my arms out and grab the fridge handles to catch balance and i can't see very well and if i try to walk i look like im drunk and every time it happens it feels like there is something holding on to my back.. is there something wrong with me because i know its normal to have this every once in a while if you get up really fast but i can just get up and i will get dizzy..Health Question & Answer

It just means that your circulation is not very active.. This can happen if you dont move for a while and then stand up.. Exercise seems to counter this..Health Question & Answer

Have you eaten today.? Were you able to hold your food down.? Did you take any medications on an empty stomach.? Do you smoke.? These are all things that could cause you to feel dizzy.. If you take a nap and some tylenol with plenty of water and eat something healthy like cereal or a banana and you still feel this way, you should go to a doc!Health Question & Answer

It could be postural Hypotension ( A blood pressure drop when standing up) ..
This can happened to most of us occasionally.. But since it happens 2-4 times a day you should see a doctor, because there could be some underlying disorder..Health Question & Answer

No, it is not normal.. There are a few things that can cause it though.. Poor circulation, vertigo, low iron are just a few..
