I have been seeing a doctor for severe pain for a few years.. I know that I have full body painful restless leg syndrome along with some other nerve disorders.. My question is does anyone know if there are any negative effects from taking Ultram (tramadol) for long periods of time.? I take between 300 and 400 mg daily and have been for over a year now.. The doctor has tried me on many different medications including Cymbalta, Lyrica, Neurontin in addition to others and I have had severe side effects of all of them except the Ultram.. Just curious about taking it for such a long amount of time and wondering if anyone is going through the same thing.? Thanks for your time..............:)Health Question & Answer

This is a serious ( Tramadol ) drug that manage moderate to severe pain, the doctor needs supervision all the time.. Adverse effects: Seizures and GI bleeding are life-threatening effects of this drug.. Other adverse effects are dizziness, central nervous system stimulation, somnolence, headaches, anxiety, etc.. I was only on Ultram for a short period, but I'm on Fentanyl now, MUCH better drug and only have to change patch every 3 days.. I haven't had a side effect yet..Health Question & Answer
