Answers:
First of all, I know exactly what you are going through with 'bad periods'......
However, there are several kinds of ways to have bad periods......
For instance, one person may have painful, painful cramps......while another person could have really heavy bleeding for more than 3 days in a row......
Then again, another person might have a lot of clots that are passed when on their period......
If it's pain, then you might want to ask the doc for something like percocet, or vicodin......really, it is unusual for this type of medication to be prescribed for periods......and you might want to have your primary care physician order it for you......the OB-GYN probably won't......
If it's heavy bleeding that you experience, then you might want to talk to the OB-GYN about maybe putting you on something to help lighten up the bleeding......there are a lot of options these days for this kind of thing......so it's a possibility that one of them could work for you......
If it's heavy, and large clots that you are passing with your period for more than a day......then you might want to, again, talk with your OB-GYN about the options that are out there to get rid of these clots......one of the methods is an old one, a D&C, abbreviation for dilation and currettage......which is the dilation of your cervix and uterus......and scraping of the uterine wall......
OR, you could talk with the OB-GYN about uterine ablation......which is a proceedure that burns the lining of the uterus......making the bleeding a lot lighter and the clots disappear......
Taking extra vitamins, especially the 'B' vitamins, will and might help......
Good luck, I hope you find something that helps you......Health Question & Answer

I get really bad periods also, heat pads really help to relieve the pain, i highly suggest these, i find that midol, and other period cramp relievers do not work for me, i have to use either extra strength gel advil capsules, or even tylonel 1s, gl with it, i know it can be bad.. If it is too bad i know that some doctors will prescribe medication for it.. also iron pills help make your days better, if you feel drained and tired :)Health Question & Answer

Well...... you can always go the midol route, heating pads, lots of fluid, and Socks! (when you feet are warm, for some reason, it elevates some of the pain of cramps).. also, get active...... i know you WANT to sit at home in bed, but dont...... its actually better that you get up and move around (go to the mall..)

If they are really, really seriously - i cant move, i wanna die - bad...... i would mention it to the 'rents and perhaps go see a doctor.. It could be anemia (iron deficency), it could be a hormone imbalance, it could be something more serious.. When in doubt, check it out!Health Question & Answer
