When you swallow gum, does it actually stay in your digestive system for years?!

Question: When you swallow gum, does it actually stay in your digestive system for years.?
Answers:
No, that is a total myth.. Since it's made out of soluble fiber, chewing gum passes right through us, so we really dont digest it at all.. It come out a few days later, just like any other food..Health Question & Answer

The answer partly depends on the kind of gum you're chewing.. If natural gum (chicle) stayed in your stomach, it would dissolve in the highly acidic environment long before seven years had passed.. However, most gum is made of synthetic polymers, not the natural latex of the original product.. Basically this means most gum is plastic.. How long does it take for plastic to dissolve in your stomach.? I don't know..Health Question & Answer

no, eventually the stomach gastric juice starts to break it down, and after that you know where it comes out..Health Question & Answer
