"White lines in or across the nail can signal...... a lack of iron or zinc in your diet.."

You're fingers are long because it's in your genetics or your food.. No, contrary to popular belief, cracking your fingers does not cause arthritis.. The main problem with cracking your fingers is that it stretches your tendons, which results in a weaker grip..Health Question & Answer

Sooooo many reasons!! White lines in or across the nail can signal fever, liver or heart disease, kidney disorders or, more likely, a lack of iron or zinc in your diet.. They appear after an episode of heavy metal poisoning.. They can also signal a protein deficiency.. You can get protein from beans, oats, seeds, nuts, eggs and lean meats.. The most common cause is injury to the base of the nail where the nail is formed.. A family of antibiotics can also cause this appearance.. Picking and biting of the nails are a prominent cause in nail biters..Health Question & Answer
