Question: Why do people ask serious questions here and don't call a doctor or do online research.?
Hi.. I have answered my fair share of questions here (Yahoo Answers) and it fustrates me when people have weird discharges, their baby is severly ill, UTIs or worse and they first think to come to a message board to ask what's wrong.?!.? Why not call a doctor.? And if you can not afford a doctor's visit, why not do your research online.? Just wondering..........Health Question & Answer

I think people ask questions in Yahoo answers as they get response from a wider audience who have experience of similar nature.. While doing research on Internet they get serious theories which are not easily understood..
They may not stop with this forum and may be still consulting their doctors.. But I am sure that lot of people derive comfort when they get answers which give support to them..Health Question & Answer

Yes, people really should take care of their health.. Either go to the doctor or do some research online to see what's up with your body.. However, some people (like me) are afraid to go to the doctor.. I have some health issues that nobody knows about.. I know I should go to the doctor, but I don't want to.. Well, if it were a true life threatening emergency........of course the person is going to call 911 or go to the emergency room..........but if theyre unsure about something or there is no life threatening emergency at hand, then they ask ppl on yahoo just to get a general concensus.. For example, if a person has some kind of disharge, thats not something to panic over........you make an appointment and see the doctor when he/she is available......in the meantime, theres no harm in a person getting opinions from others......stop getting frustrated over nonsense..Health Question & Answer
