Question: Could this be growing pains.?
I am having some pain on my lower, lower back on my left side.. It feels more of like a pressure pain or a squeezing pain.. This started Wednsday night and it stayed around all night.. It occured again last night (although I think the pain was worse), after I got out of the shower.. They both started around ten o'clock.. Could this be growing pains.? Could it be gas.? Could it be something way more serious than this.? Please help me out here!Health Question & Answer

You very likely have a small kidney stone or an infection.. The best person to see is your family doctor.. They can do a urinalysis to diagnose the cause.. Most kidney stones go unnoticed and are passed with no pain, but sometimes one can get trapped and cause irritation.. While the pain you're experiencing is not acute, you are obviously feeling worse, so it's time to see a doctor.. I hope you have time to go today or have a doctor you can visit tomorrow.. Kidney problems can be very dangerous and extremely painful - I had a kidney stone just two weeks ago that had to be surgically removed: no urine could leave my kidney and the pain was so excruciating, it can only be compared to labor pains.. (It was worse, though, because at least in labor, you get a break between contractions!)
So, call your doctor ASAP and get something set up.. And drink plenty of water to help flush your kidney.. You could still pass the stone on your own..Health Question & Answer
