Question: Will it hurt more with out laughing gas.?
i getting alot of cacvitity filled withy out laughing gas and the denist don`t use it and i had pain at my old denist with laughing gas but not as much how should i do this (cavitity will be filled on different dates) what should i do about this should i take some sort of med i`m only 14Health Question & Answer

Well actually I just got the same thing done.. First they give you this numbing gel to put on your check that lasts for a few moments(so if you swallow it thats okay it will feel weird at first but it goes away).. While your check is numb they will numb it with a needle, while injecting the needle they will "wrigle it like the dickens"(.?).. Then they will do the procedure.. The numbing will go away in a few hours and I suggest that you be very, very careful that when you eat you DO NOT bite your check!! You have no idea how sore your mouth will be the next day! When you are younger they don't like to give you the anaethetic so they give you gas or a small amoutn of anaesthitic on a cotton wool ball wrapped in bandage which you bite down on.. Sometimes they give you this before the injection too..
You shouldn't have it done without anaesthetic of some kind so refuse to have anything done without it..

Before any type of dental procedure they will always numb your mouth.. The gas is used only to calm your nerves and make you less jumpy, which kids tend to be.. They will give you a shot in your mouth and wait about 10 minutes then he will make sure you can't feel anything.. If you can, tell them and he will give you some more anesthesia.. My dentist quit giving the gas to me when I was about your age, I guess he thought I was enjoying it a little too much.. You will be fine!Health Question & Answer
Bummer......better learn how to brush and floss better! The dentist should give you a shot of novacaine (ask if they can use some topical anesthetic to numb the injection site first).. Do NOT take any medication before seeing the dentist unless they instruct you to do so......it can interfere with the injection they will use or cause side effects..Health Question & Answer
