if you need painkillers, they will check your medical history and give you the appropriate medicine--some people are allergic to some medicines so they will find that out and give you the right stuff.. Sorry to hear about your broken arm and i hope your pain is not too bad.. this is dependant on the severity of the break..
If surgery was required then a follow on pain relief would normally be prescribed as well as an anti inflammatory..
dependant on age and underlying medical conditions eg- diabetes, the surgeon or dr would decide on anything from aspirin to co codamol to morphine..
each case is different and is assessed accordingly..

Yes, they do cast the arm after the swelling has gone down.. Yes, they may give you pain meds, but they will only alleviate the broken arm..................if that..
