Tips for relieving an ankle sprain?!

Question: Tips for relieving an ankle sprain.?
Two weeks ago, I sprained my ankle from a motor scooter accident.. I went to the ER, had X-rays to confirm the sprain.. Since I do not have insurance at the moment, I can't afford any further treatment.. After two weeks, I thought I would be able to bear weight on my foot, but can't.. The pain is mostly in the achilles area, and ankle bone.. I keep it wrapped in an ace bandage and splint.. I have discontinued icing it, since nearly all the swelling has gone down..
I feel that I should probably be doing some sort of exercise, but don't want to do the wrong thing and incur more damage..
Any suggestions.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

1..rest
2..ice
3..compression
4..elevation

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

Keep all weight off it for now..

For excersices, stand next to a wall, put the injured foot on the wall, with the heel on the ground (kinda like a big checkmark) press as much weight as you can onto the foot, you should feel it in the achille's area..

My doctor girlfriend at university gave me (and my friends) exercises to help us keep ankles strong.. It goes like this: point your toes out and pretend that they are a pen or pencil and write your name in cursive, or write the alphabet.. Clockwise for a while and counter clockwise.. It works.. I use to always sprain my ankles.. I haven't for ten years..

Rest a lot, get a lot of sleep
If you can walk, get up and walk around every 30 minutes
Icing more never hurts..Ice for 15-20 minutes, and don't ice again until 1 hour after your last ice session..Health Question & Answer
