Recovering from ear surgery??!

Question: Recovering from ear surgery.?.?

I had my left ear drum repaired on July 14th.. I have tried to reach my doctor to ask this question, but it seems that he is out of reach.. My question is........ How long do I need to wait before I can go swimming.? I asked him this the day of surgery and all he said was wait a little while.. What is a considered a little while.? Has anyone on here had this done and how long did you have to wait.? I would appreciate all the advice you can give me..Health Question & Answer

I would not go swimming until there is complete healing from that surgery.. I used to work for an ENT and we did drum repairs in the office and he always told them 4-6 weeks! That hole has to completely heal so bacteria won't get in there and cause a severe inner ear infection!
