How much fish oil should I take a day?!
Question: How much fish oil should I take a day.?
I have been taking 1000mg twice a day, should I go to for a day.? My doc told me to take them for my bp and cholesterol.. Thanks for the info..Health Question & Answer

OK problem being that not all fish oils have the same amount of oils in them! This is going to get complicated! This is the brand they prescribe here after you have had your first heart attack.. They will not give it to you before, but after your first heart attack, should you survive, go figure.?

You will need to do some research to find a Fish Oil that has all the different types of essential oils..

Some brands will state fish oils but when you read the label you will see they have small amounts of the fatty acids and large amount of vitamin E to prevent oxidization..
I have evening primrose oil prescribed by my Doctor and take 3,000mgs per day, but this is for my underlying health problems and I am being monitored..
Fish Oils can cause unwanted problems so it is important you get the right brand and take the right amount.. As your Doctor told you to take them, I am surprised he did not mention the brand let alone the quantity!

Most 1,000 mg fish oil capsules contain 300 mg of combined DHA and EPA.. You can quite safely take 6 capsules a day which equates to 1,800 mg of combined DHA and EPA.. Any more could be regarded as overdoing it..Health Question & Answer
