I twisted my ankle...how long does it take to heal????!

Question: I twisted my ankle......how long does it take to heal.?.?.?.?
Last night I twisted my ankle on a step.. It hurt sooooo bad and it hurt if i barely touched it or stepped on it.. My dad had to carry me all the way to the car.. I slept on it........and I woke up because it hurt.. Now this morning it still hurts to touch, move, or walk on it.. My mom doesnt know if she should take me to the doctors..

The only thing is, is that I am going on a white water rafting trip with some friends in 3 days.. will i still be able to go.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

........ankles have high and low sprains, also front or rear sprains, especially the anterior crucible ligament
........if the swelling is in front, likely will repair soon, you should always ice a bruise or sprain ASAP........
........and stay off it for a day or two........get some elastic-type wrapping to secure the ankle........like also some athletic-type 2" tape to tape the bandage and really secure to ankle from wobbling........maybe wrap it, put on your shoe, then tape everything secure, 'just like in football or basketball' so you can get around, but not move the ankle ( and take ibuprofen or acetomenaphen)........then if you can bare your weight ok, go rafting
........if you cant bare your weight, get a cane and go rafting
........but if it is sooo bad that even with wraping and a cane you cant bare your own weight........then do not go rafting
....then n that case you really should be off of it completely for a week and half at least..........
......you will notice that injury as an arthritis location when you turn 50 hahahahahah! so have fun while u r young!!!
GO RAFTING..........maybe the moving water will feel good on itHealth Question & Answer
