Run a credit card over it to make sure the stinger is out - if it's still in, it's still injecting - then apply ice and make a paste of baking soda and cold water and put it on the sting - cover with a damp cloth.. If your husband can take Benedryl, give him some.. Watch for worse symptoms - if your hubby has shortness of breath, get him to a doctor ASAPHealth Question & Answer

The swelling is an allergic reaction.. He needs some benadryl.. This is an antihistimine med that will decrease the swelling.. Take two tabs, 50mg, if not significantly better repeat in 1 hour.. It doesn't need medical attention if it isn't affecting his breathing.. If the swelling persisits keep repeating the benadryl every 6-8 hours.. This will make him sleepy.. Ice is the only thing to put on it that will help..Health Question & Answer

First off, make sure the stinger is out......If it is, and it is swollen, he is most likely allergic.. You may want to take him to the doctor to make sure, because if he is, it could be serious.. But, if you know for a FACT he is NOT allergic, put ice on it, and run it under cold water.. Swelling can last for a day, but most likely under.. Calamine lotion can make the itching subside if he has any..Health Question & Answer

Oh my gosh......I got stung 4 times yesterday by yellowjackets......Ihope he doesn't start to itch like me, cause Im ready to go in for amputations (ok not really but its driving me nuts!) Oddly, 2 of the 4 places are swollen and red......the other 2 itch some but aren't that bad......

Ive been putting cortaid, benedryl cream and calamine lotion (not all at once-just trying different things)....nothing really works but Im finding some relief by putting the calamine lotion on and then resting some ice on it......

Good luck!Health Question & Answer

An old home remedy, break apart cigarette and take some of the tobacco and moisten it and place on the sting.. put a band aid over to hole.. It is supposed to draw out the poison..

Today's medicine, Benedrill.. If the swelling doesn't go down by in the morning or it gets worse go to the emergency roomHealth Question & Answer

first you must determine if he is allergic to be stings.. Then you may want to take a benidryl, put ice on it, and cleanse the area well with soap and water..Health Question & Answer
