Is it OK to put a plug in air freshner in your hospital room?!

Question: Is it OK to put a plug in air freshner in your hospital room.?
I'll be in the hospital for about a week and I hate the medicinal smell, and smelly people stank......is it OK to plug in an air freshener from Bath & Body works in the room (it will be semi-private,) and bring some aroma therapy spray for the room.?Health Question & Answer

I already know that it is "against" the rules but bring it and plug it in when no one is looking and in a place that won't be so "conspicuous" and they won't probably even notice.. As far as the spray, just hide it in your drawer and use it when there aren't any medical staff in your room.. I feel you 100%.. A lot of people forget how uncomfortable it is to be in the hospital and how just a "few" touches of "home" can help us relax and heal faster.. Good luck!!!

Highly doubtful- the other responses are correct in that it could cause problems to people with respiratory conditions, and also that any electrical device must be tested & documented by hospital personnel.. If you really must have something to smell other than the hospital, try dryer sheets.. You can wash a blanket or something that you'll have near you with a ton of dryer sheets so it smells really really good.. You could also try taking a box of dryer sheets with you so you can set it next to your bed.. Just beware you may need to nix this idea if your roomate has a problem with this though..
Good luck, and happy recovery!Health Question & Answer

No you can't.. All electrical devices in hospitals have to be tested for safety by the biomedical department at a hospital.. also, the chemicals can cause problems for people with asthma and may affect another patient in the hospital.. So, you probably won't be allowed to have it..Health Question & Answer

probably not.. Some people are allergic to it or might find it offensive.. But ask the hospital staff - just in case..Health Question & Answer

You probably need to ask your nurse or consult the hospital..Health Question & Answer

Ask any hospital personnel......Health Question & Answer
