Swollen hand from repeated stress?!

Question: Swollen hand from repeated stress.?
I work in a vinyl window shop.. I've been doing it for about two weeks now.. My job consists of using a paddle to pound weather stripping into the vinyl window frames.. I use cutters to cut the weather stripping and a chisel to remove some of the excess vinyl from the corners.. These are all necessary parts of my job and I cant take a break from them.. (I just got done with a six day work week of ten hour shifts)

When I come home my hand is swollen and I just started icing it and elevating it along with taking advil.. I try to keep my sodium intake low.. The swelling never really goes down and my dexterity is absolutely terrible in the morning (I have problems gripping things and opening zip lock type bags)

Is this something that will go away after I work for a while or will it just worsen if I continue to work there.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
If you notice it getting worse and worse by day......then you should think of quitting the job......the sooner the better......but give it some time and see if you dont notice it getting worse than it will go away on its ownHealth Question & Answer

You need to find another job.. That repetitive trauma is definitely bad for you.. It may even be doing serious damage to your hand.. You need to report it to your supervisor.. You might even be eligible for worker's comp..Health Question & Answer
