Question: If I am unconscious and somebody else calls 911, is it possible to fight the bill.?
Since I did not give consent, and could not since I was not conscious..
I have grand mal seizures, but I wake up in about 15 minutes and am fine again.. I just can't afford a 1-2 thousand dollar bill every time I have one while by myself at the store or something..
What really sucks the most is that this expensive trip is all for nothing.. 1-2 thousand dollars for a 5 mile drive in an ambulance, and a 30 minute rest in a hospital bed before I get released.. I get so mad just thinking about it, cause if I was able to talk, I'd tell them to sod off and I'll be fine in 15 minutes..
And no I have no insurance, and my income is very limited.. I have some money saved up still, but after the last ER trip it's mostly gone.. Would like to hang on to the rest of it though, if possible..Health Question & Answer

No you cant......Being unconscious and unresponsive gives EMS the right to treat and to transport.. Maybe a med alert tag with info saying whats wrong and you dont want transported will work, but if someone calls we have to take you.. Or shop with someone you know, who knows not to call..Health Question & Answer
prolly ur best bet is to hang with a friend and carry documentation of your condition so he can object on your behalf to calling 911..

You should consult a lawyer or someone simular and tell all close friends and family and anyone you might be around NOT to call for an ambulance, that you can deal with it yourself.. Tell them enough for them to be fully confident in coping with your unconsciousness without professional medical advice..Health Question & Answer
You should not be by yourself then.. Its scary to see someone have a seizure and most anyone who didn't know better would call.. also if you have a limited income apply for medicaid, they will pay up to three months back in medical bills if you qualify..Health Question & Answer

Yeah just call a laywer and ask it cant hurt to ask and maybe he could get you some money back that you have already had to pay in if thats whats happend before! But thats a real awesome question never thought about that..Health Question & Answer
