Tylenol #3 (Tylenol with codeine) is only available by prescription because of the codeine.. Codeine is a Schedule III drug and is therefore restricted by the government..
dinkerbell1969 - I'm sorry but you are incorrect.. Pain medications can have refills; they do not require a separate script each time.. This, of course, depends on the medication.. If the medication is a Schedule II drug then yes, it does require a separate script each time.. However, Schedule III medications can have refills.. Vicodin, Lortab, Norco, Tylenol #3, etc can have refills written without a separate script and these are all pain medications..Health Question & Answer
