How much water would it take to kill yourself on!

Question: How much water would it take to kill yourself on
how much water is dangerous to drink, is drinking 1 1/2 litres in the space of 5 hours dangerous.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
That's nowhere near a dangerous level - the kidneys can excrete about a litre of water an hour, PLUS you lose it through other means (sweating etc)..

Water intoxication is very rare and usually occurs during intense intake of water (ie.. gallons in a matter of minutes, not hours) or extended exercise, when you lose a lot of electrolytes in urine and sweat but dont regain them through water intake alone.. The inbalance of electrolytes can cause fatal brain disturbances, usually through low sodium levels in the blood.. That's why athletes drink sports drinks, which contain a good balance of electrolytes to prevent water intoxication..

There are things that put you more at risk, kidney disorders etc, but you'd know if you had any of them..

Edited to add: the amount of water you can drink without causing any problems varies massively depending on your weight, age, metabolism, fitness level etc.. But it's a heck of a lot more than 1..5 litres..Health Question & Answer

No lol! Otherwise I'd be dead!
10 litres in 2 minutes would kills you.. Maybe 5 litres could give you brain damage/ coma..
