last week i was trying to hang something up and i was using a electric screw driver well instead of getting the screw into the wall i got my thumb well 48 hrs after the fact it got all brused swallen and my cut turned into a blister well i poked it with a sewing needle lots of stuff came out yellowish color well it relived some of the pressure and so i thought it would go away well i was wrong the next day it formed another blister the burst and now it has gotten ten times worse and spreading and it is still brused and swollen my q is is it possible for it to spread.? and should i go see a doctor or go to the erHealth Question & Answer

Yes, like all of the other responces, you do have an infection.. Infections can spread and they can spread easily.. If there is a red ring around the area of the cut, and the area is swollen and maybe the skin around it looks puckered, you have cellulitus and you need care from a doctor.. You can have cellulitus spread to other body parts.. Be sure to keep an eye out for a red line that starts to ascend through your hand and arm.. This is a serious infection that needs to be cared for..
You can also get gangreen and other infections if you're not careful.. Get medical help either from a nurse practitioner or from a doctor.. In the meanwhile, if you can't get to the doctor, use hydrogen peroxide and some neosporin, and keep the area clean and dry with a bandage or gauze until you see a doctor..
