I have a very large swollen gland on the left side of my neck.. This gland is making my jaw hurt and when ever I move my head my neck hurts very badly.. Lately I have noticed that I have been quite tired.. Should I go see a doctor or just rest up and wait until it goes away on its own.?Health Question & Answer

You need to go to the doctor and have the gland checked.. He may want to run some test on you to rule out any disease process.. At any rate you have an infection that needs to be treated.. Left untreated it could continue into a systemic blood infection..Health Question & Answer
I would definately get this checked out.. It could mean alot of different things! I wouldn't even wait.. One thing it could be (I'm not a doctor, just suggesting something) is a thyroid condition.. I have hypothyroidism, which means your body doesn't produce enough hormones so your body can work "normally.." My thyroid glands, on occasion will get large and cause pain in my neck and even hurt when I swallow..

glands enlarge due to infecton....do u feel as though you are coming down with a cold.?....have a tooth abcess.? etc....if so it is most probably due to that....they do tend to cause some discomfort when they enlarge....if however you feel fine otherwise then just go down the docs to put your mind at rest..Health Question & Answer
