If you eat far too much, and you start developing aches in your upper back, what organs are suffering?!

Question: If you eat far too much, and you start developing aches in your upper back, what organs are suffering.?
It's not the stomach, it's a few inches underneath your shoulder blades, possibly behind your lungs, on either side of the spine, what organs might be suffering.?

I was debating this with a friend.. She said she couldn't see any organs in the area specified in the anatomy book.. As it's a purely hypothetical question, there is no point telling me to go to the doctor..

In case you are not yet sure, simply put your hands underneath your shoulders.. then, simply go to the spine at the same level, on either side.. Not on the spine itself..

Can anyone help.? thanks.. Health Question & Answer

Sounds funny, but that probably actually is your stomach in pain!

The body sends pain messages about your organs in a strange way called visceral pain referral.. The areas of sensation appear on the skin and in the soft tissues underneath in a map called a sclerotome..

Have you heard the idea that when people have a heart attack, they feel pain in their left arm & neck.? It's the same idea,

You can see in this map here that the stomach sends sensory pain signals to the mid back, between the shoulder blades! So, you're right, there's not really any organs back there (though your heart and lungs lie on the front in the same plane), but you might very well feel pain here if your stomach is trying to tell you something!
