SWALLOWED A TACK!!!!?!

If you have not passed it by now you really should go to the hospital to be checked.. It is hard to tell what kind of damage that little tack can do to the digestive system.. Do not wait any longer.. Better safe then sorry..Health Question & Answer

i'm sure I swallowed a hair clip when I was about 11 but I never told anyone.. A tack is slightly different though as it is very sharp and could perferate (cut) your stomach.. I would go to the doctor to get an X-ray and a check-up to make sure you really did swollow it and also find out whether the tack is still in you and where it is.. It might be safe to just leave it, but they may have to remove it if it is endangering the intestines or anything.. Definately go to the doctor.. People swollow amazing things without realising it and often only when they are dead or need an x-ray do the doctors find out they have beads and nails and pieces of metal in their guts! Get an x-ray just in-case!! I swallowed a penny before and had to get an x-ray I'm pretty sure everything will be okay if it didn't get stuck anywhere stomach acid will dissolve it.. It dissolved a penny before in my body..Health Question & Answer
