Usually before any surgery, it is a rule you take nothing by mouth past midnight unless it is blood pressure medicine that you can take with just a sip of water, other than that don't take anything.. You won't even feel any pain right after the surgery and the Doctor will prescribe you a pain medication for you to take at home if you need it.. Don't take anything else unless you ask the Doctor.. As Nurofen is an anti-inflammatory, I don't think it will be very affective BEFORE you get pain.. I would suggest you talk to the doctor who will be doing the procedure.. I doubt whether you will get any pain from the procedure, anyway, as it is normally done under a local anaesthetic....Health Question & Answer
Check with your doctor.. It does not affect blood clotting as much as aspirin does, but it still has a negative effect on it..
