I broke my tailbone twice now and the only thing you can do is wait for it to heal on its own.. Kinda like broken ribs, there is no casting.. You can try sitting on a donut cushion or pillow to help with the pain.. For me, the hardest part was getting up after sitting down.. But also for me, after the bone healed, I have not had any trouble with it.. Every person is different though so if it would ease your mind, have some x-rays taken.. And take some over the counter pain relievers..Health Question & Answer

Hi.. I fell down the steps about 15 years ago and broke my tailbone.. There is nothing you can do for it.. The pain will get better with time, but you will have problems from it forever.. I have a hard time sitting for long periods of times.. Sometimes even standing for too long makes it sore.. You should go get an xray to see if it is actually broken, you could have just injured yourself really bad.. Trust me, if it was broke, you would be in excruciating pain.. Good Luck, hope you feel better soon :-)Health Question & Answer
