Should I just stop taking the antibiotic?!

Question: Should I just stop taking the antibiotic.?
I was placed on Dicloxacillin for a Bartholin cyst that seems to be draining on its own b/c they didn't want an infection to spread to the [unborn] baby.. This is the fourth day I'm taking it and I have been noticing increasing side effects (increase in vaginal discharge that smells very similar to medicine, increase stomach ache, tingling headache and now a sore throat - not to mention the baby's kicks seem different).. I was very concerned when I later found out that those allergic to Ceclor or with stomach problems (I fall into both categories) should notify their doctor before taking this medicine.. The OB who placed me on it doesn't seem so concerned, though - they STILL haven't returned my call.. What should I do.? I know that you're suppose to finish all your med or the bacterial infection can come back stronger, but I am starting to feel this medicine is doing more harm than good.. Health Question & Answer

diclox can be harsh, but you should continue until your doctor advises you otherwise.. Bartholin cysts are wicked painful, I know you don't want that beast to return.. Call your doctor again and tell them your really concerned, if they don't call you back, you need another dr..Health Question & Answer

antibiotics should be taken for their full course in order to work or else your bacterial infection will come back.. you should call your regular doctor if you can't get a hold of your OB/GYN.. you shouldn't just stop taking it until you talk to a doctor about it.. a lot of antibiotics cause you to have various symptoms, but it doesn't mean you are necessarily allergic to the medicine.. You should keep calling your MD..Health Question & Answer

never stop taking an antibiotic without your doctor's permission, and keep calling until you reach the doctor, don't let them ignore you! or at worst, switch doctors, or at least try contacting another doctor if you do want to stop taking the meds..Health Question & Answer

KEEP TAKING IT until you hear from your doc.. If you don't hear from them, take it anyway.. Never stop taking antibiotics until they are gone.. Your doc knows best.. If you feel you need to, call your pharmacist and ask about it..Health Question & Answer

If your doctor wont return your call, call your pharmacist, they quite often know alot more about drug prescriptions than doctors do.. Good luck to youHealth Question & Answer
