Is it true you can get arthritis by cracking your neck?!

Question: Is it true you can get arthritis by cracking your neck.?
Answers:
No.. Arthritis is the swelling of the joints and discs in the spine..

Cracking actually relieves the pain and arthritis makes it impossible to crack those joints.. Health Question & Answer

no arthritis is a bone disease

Cracking is all cartlidge.. Now if your bones are cracking, then artharits is the least of your worries because that will hurt like hell..

When water is moved along the ridge of cartlitdge it makes the pop your used to hearing..

Now poping joints does.. Decrease flexibility, wear out cartlidge/ ligaments.. Causes swelling in the area (long term popping)

I have heard of people tearing ligament, even dislocating joints from poping but it is rare..Health Question & Answer

No, but you might want to be careful doing that and not pull or move your head too far in any direction.. Anything beyond natural movement could cause serious medical problems.. Best thing is to consult a chiropractor or a doctor.. I have been cracking my neck almost daily and sometimes more than once and been doing it for 20 years.. No arthritis at all..Health Question & Answer

Not neccessarily, but sort of.. Where 2 bones meet each other there is cartilage and fluid, ok.? When you "crack" your neck, what you hear is the fluid moving and popping bubbles and such.. Now, a chiropractor told me that it only causes problems if done wrong, but that's kind of a suspect science if you ask me.. I do it myself, have for years, and have never had a problem..Health Question & Answer

No, it's not true..
Mostly it happens when you receive a neck injury from an accident..
And then the arthritis usually comes on later in life..Health Question & Answer

There is no scientific evidence that it causes arthritis..Health Question & Answer
