But there is a theory that an alkaline in the stomach reduces the breakdown of foods and lines the stomach wall, therefore decreasing the rate of absorption and thereby reducing the effect of common drugs..
Given that alkalines are used to alleviate the effects of ingested poisons (milk of magnesia), I myself have never swallowed my tablets with milk..
On the other hand this is not mentioned on the packet, so I would imagine the effects for this particular drug are negligible..Health Question & Answer

FALSE.. Taking paracetamol with milk (or food) can reduce the possibility of causing an upset stomach but does not reduce the efficacy of the medication itself.. Paracetamol is not particularly damaging to the stomach but is very hard on the liver.. NSAIDs are more damaging to the stomach..Health Question & Answer
