Why is my knee hurting?!

Question: Why is my knee hurting.?

i have a bad pain in my knee and it has gradually built up over the last hour..
my joints click....could this be related.?
any ideas how to stop it from hurting.?

I had a pain in my knee and it kept clicking for like a year so I went to the doctor and I had some condition which I'm meant to grow out of, nothing serious but yeah..
