How do I avoid blistering with a sunburn?!

Question: How do I avoid blistering with a sunburn.?
I got back from the beach a while ago, and I have a medium-bad sunburn.. It's all over the upper part of my body and my face..

Now, I think I might develop some blisters.. What are some remedies to stop this.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Once the blistering starts, it just dosen't stop.. One thing that you can do to help is take Benadryl.. Sunburn is a histamine reaction of the skin, Benadryl is an antihistamine, and helps to prevent some of the symptoms associated with sunburn.. The next time you know you are going to be exposed to the sun long enough to possibly cause a burn, take Benadryl prior to exposure.. The side effects are listed on the package, and, it definitely does cause drowsiness.. You definitely don't want to take it if you are drinking alcoholic beverages or are on medication where the side effects also include drowsiness.. Another thing you can do at this time, even with the blisters, is gently dab vinegar soaked clothes , such as a washcloth, on the blistered areas.. Be aware that you could potentially develop a condition known as sun poisoning, where the sunburn is severe, and you may have a headache, nausea and vomiting.. In that event, see a doctor..Health Question & Answer

Cooling your skin is the first step in treating any burn, so a cold shower is in order.. Second, an over the counter anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen (take 800mg) in high dose.. Third, some sort of skin soother such as pure AV gel.. Wear Sunscreen!!Health Question & Answer
