Am I limiting my options?!
Question: Am I limiting my options.?
I'm going to Uni in 4 weeks time to study for a Nursing Diploma
I've chosen the Mental Health branch but now I'm thinking maybe I should switch to the Adult branch
My plan is to study nursing, hopefully gain my qualification then in a few years time train to be a paramedic (I couldn't do the paramedic training now because my son is only 2 and I wouldn't have been ale to work round the training course)
Will I actually get anything from Mental Health that will help me when eventually applying for a paramedic course

Mr Haz was due to do MH but switched before the common foundation unit ended.. Do they still have that.? were you all train together whatever branch for a period time.?
Anyway he changed because of the more diversity is Adult health.. OGP is right about the money you get more enhancements doing MH but it ain't shed loads..
If you want to do Paramedic you will prob do your elective stint in A +E you will certainly need to demonstrate a capability and interest in trauma.. You won't get that chance in MH..
If it easy for you to swap ....I would.. We had two MH branch swap to adult and 4 Kids branch move to Adult.. They wanted the variety.. My husband did it because he felt what he wanted to do at 20 odd wasn't likely to be the same at 40 odd..
