Try duct tape.. Put a large enough piece to cover the area where you know the splinter is.. Then gently remove.. And don't apologize to all the Americans, lol, we're not all like Emily......=)Health Question & Answer

Try soaking it in warm salty water, that can help draw it out enough to get it the end of it with tweezers, you'll prob have to do it a few times a day, and maybe for a couple of days, depends how deep it is.. If that doesn't draw it out in the next day or two and it begins to get very red around it or swollen go to see the nurse at your doctors and they'll have to remove it..Health Question & Answer

I had no idea what you meant by 'skelf' so I typed it into google.. It says its a Northern England word for splinter.. If that's true, you should probably just put splinter so all the Americans know what you mean lol..

If you really can't think of anything else, you have to jab the skin with the tweezers until you can find it and pull it out.. But let's hope somebody else has a better suggestion first!Health Question & Answer

Magnesium sulphate paste from your chemist..
Put a dollop of it on a piece of lint or gauze and bandage it on your finger..
It will draw it out as it is made from Epsom salts & Glycerin--both have drawing out properties..Health Question & Answer

If it is catching on things it is exposed.. Try this.. Put some wood glue (Elmer's would be fine) Let it dry and then peel off the glue..The glue should attach to the splinter.. sometimes it takes a couple of tries..
