Because people want the best for you and love you. They do not want to see you putting harm on yourself for no reason. If you cut you scare people around you, people may think you will do worse things to yourself, they may be wrong but its not just you who suffers through cutting,its the people who care for you and probably matter most to you.
Plus you may want to hide injuries when you are out, and this can create extra torment and prevent you participating in activities.

It would be hard to justify why self-mutilation is anything but bad. You say you think it is "fine" but you have not justified why you think that way.
As to why it is bad, it is a redirection of other pain that you are refusing to solve, it invites infections and possibly bleed to death, and worse of all, we exist to preserve our existence. Cutting and self-destruction goes counter to it.

Most self-inflicted injuries are either for attention or there is an underlying condition your mind is trying to fight. You need to step back and ask yourself why you cut yourself !
