What or why am I mumbling? Please help?!
Question: What or why am I mumbling.? Please help.?
For the past week or so I have been mumbling lately. I do mumble occasionally, but I found this week it is even worse then usual.
It is getting to the point where I am getting to depressed to speak.
My uncle commented on it last night to my mother after I chatted to him on the phone.
While I was on the phone to my boyfriend I mumbled some words while my mother walked past and she was laughing at me.
Today my mother commented on my mumbling saying I need to stop it. And that she couldn't understand how my boyfriend puts up with me doing it.
I don't like mumbling, I wish to God that I could speak clearly at all times. I don't mumble on purpose. In fact I know when I mumble cause of the way my voice box is shaky and my tongue gets a little to much saliva on it.
It is such an embarrassment. Is there ways that I can speak clearly.?
I should note that I do have the condition Limb Girdle Musclar Dystrophy, although from watching people with the same condition they speak in a normal clear tone, as the muscle weakness is in their limbs.
Thanks.Health Question & Answer

I googled speech and LGMD and the only thing that came up was a different type of MD:
"Congenital muscular dystrophy
Signs of congenital MD may include:
* General muscle weakness
* Joint deformities
This form is apparent at birth and progresses slowly. More severe forms of congenital MDs may involve severe mental and speech problems as well as seizures. "Health Question & Answer
